£31,950 – £41,395 per annum, 

dependent on level of teaching qualification  

With the potential of a technical allowance, 

37 hours per week 

The working pattern is Monday to Thursday 7.5 hours per day, Friday 7 hours per day 

52 weeks per annum,

We are looking to appoint an inspirational and extraordinary Animal Study Programme Lead predominantly to manage and teach on our further education courses ranging from level 1 to level 3.  

At Abingdon and Witney College, we pride ourselves in delivering inclusive and outstanding programmes of study. The college is a full member of Landex the national organisation for land-based colleges and we have excellent practical and teaching facilities at the Common Leys Farm Campus, just 3 miles outside of Witney. You would be joining a vibrant and enthusiastic team of staff where innovation, sharing of best practice and professional development is key.  

Along with a breadth of further education courses we currently offer animal and equine degree programmes in partnership with Oxford Brookes University. There will be the opportunity to teach at a higher academic level as well as post 16 school leavers. 

Expertise in the areas of animal health, nutrition, training and conservation are desirable as is experience of working within the animal industry.

Although a teaching qualification is an advantage, training opportunities exist within the College and we can support you in gaining your Award in Education and Training Level 3 Qualification (AET), within your first year of joining the college. 

This role may be eligible for the ‘Taking Teaching Further (TTF)’ programme, which supports professionals as they move into teaching in the further education sector. Support from the TTF programme can include an initial reduction in teaching workload and enrolment onto teacher training.
