The UBC Library is a leading research library that enhances learning and teaching excellence by connecting communities, within and beyond the University. The UBC Library strives to transform its facilities into experiential spaces that stimulate ideas, innovation, and promote student success. The Library has 15 branches and divisions, including on- and off-campus locations and its Okanagan campus location. UBC Library holds over 5.6 million items in physical collections and 3.8 million e-books. With more than 2.4 million in-person visits and 9.7 million online visits annually, UBC Library is an integral part of teaching, learning and research at UBC.

As Senior Director of Development, you will be responsible for developing and operationalizing development strategies to ensure that strategic objectives are met. While spearheading a multi-year fundraising campaign in support of the Library, you will manage a development program at the $2.5 to $8+ million per annum. You will be responsible for moving leadership gift account strategies forward where a high degree of senior administration involvement is required.  You will work in partnerships with senior University administration and faculty to facilitate maximum private sector support and build alumni connections, as well as provide leadership to a team of career employees.

The incoming Senior Director of Development will be responsible for leading the execution of the long-term strategy for Development within the UBC Library. The ideal candidate will bring considerable depth of experience in fundraising, strategy development and, inclusive behavior and practices. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, discretion, and sound judgment are required.

The Senior Director will serve as a member of both the Development Leadership Team as well as the UBC Library Executive Team, and be supported by specialized functions and team in the Development office.

Compensation Range

$9,572.08- $11,954.42 – $14,932.75 CAD Monthly

The Compensation Range is the span between the minimum and maximum base salary for a position. The midpoint of the range is approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum and represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications and experience for the position. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range for a job.
