Full-Time Director of Career Readiness

Job Description

What you’ll do

As the subject matter expert, instructor, and spokesperson on career readiness, your leadership and project management will advance NACE’s initiatives. In collaboration with the Chief Programs and Content Officer, you will build collaborative relationships within NACE, its members, and partners to advance the vision and expectations for career readiness strategies and goals; you’ll build partnerships, programs, services, and revenue.

  • Lead progress of career readiness initiatives managing projects and events, communicating with, and establishing partners, creating new resources, providing input on research studies, and more.
  • Write, edit, and review contracts, documents, reports, webpages, articles, and other career readiness communications; ensuring NACE’s full interests are being leveraged.
  • Collaborate with staff across the organization to leverage important career readiness initiatives and revenue generation. Including managing related resources, such as curriculum, faculty and speaker fulfillment, product and services design and implementation.
  • Lead, manage, and promote the NACE competency infusion training initiative and curriculum; teach training sessions (both in person and virtually), manage training requests and contracts, recruit and develop faculty, assign faculty to training sessions.
  • Understand the competitive landscape – ensure NACE is involved with efforts, initiatives, conferences, and convenings to enhance NACE’s position as the national leader in competencies and skills-based education and hiring.
  • Explore, identify, and devise solutions for the future of competency and skills-based hiring.
  • Research, track, and document potential career readiness partners; competitors; opportunities for NACE to raise its profile or to have its voice exposed to new or important audiences; projects, programs, and issues that should be explored; and progress/milestones that need to occur.

 

What you need to thrive in this role

  • Master’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Previous experience with the NACE Career Readiness Competencies
  • 5+ years’ experience required; in a role within an association, higher education, or similar non-profit with previous teaching experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of and/or familiarity with skills/competency-based hiring.
  • Superior listening skills, intuition, verbal, and written communication capabilities, and understanding of effective transparent leadership.
  • Excellent project management skills involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience regularly innovating with an equity lens.
  • Collaborative, supportive, highly adaptable.
  • Ability to successfully navigate within varying degrees of ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience coordinating and collaborating across an organization from conception through implementation including programming, marketing, finance, administration, and communications.
  • Travel about 20-25% of the time.
  • This role is fully remote. You’ll have the ability to work from almost anywhere, though preference will be given to those in the eastern or central time zones.
