Under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer, this position is responsible for overseeing the organization’s physical and electronic information security capabilities. To be successful in this position, you must have at least seven (7) years’ experience operating as a security resource in an enterprise environment or equivalent experience. This position requires in-office support. After an initial period of training, this position is eligible for a hybrid-remote work schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides supervision and technical leadership of the security operations team comprising of security professionals.
- Oversees the implementation of security measures designed to mature the Firm’s security posture and helps shape strategic security and data protection efforts.
- Leads incident response and work closely with Security Operations Center (SOC) MSP during any security incident activity.
- Leads the security team, setting objectives aligned with the vCISO’s guidance.
- Engages in client discussions about security measures, integrating SOC MSP feedback.
- Serves as an internal information security consultant to the Firm and advises the Firm on current information security issues, technologies, and related regulatory issues.
Experience and Education Qualifications
- BA or BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field required. Advanced degree desirable.
- A minimum of 7 years experience operating as a security resource in an enterprise environment or equivalent experience required; 8 to 10 years experience preferred.
- At least 5 years experience as a Manager of IT/Information Security required.
- Prior experience in a law firm preferred.
- Prior experience should include security project management; policy and process development; threat and vulnerability management; security awareness training; and understanding and remediating penetration tests preferred.
- CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security +, CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) certified; or equivalent security credentials; CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+) certification required within 18 months of hire.
