Full-Time Housing Navigator at Enhance Shelter

ABOUT THE POSITION: The Housing Navigator is a type of Case Manager at Compass that will maintain a caseload of homeless participants, many of whom will have multiple barriers (i.e. serious mental illness, substance use disorders, chronic health conditions, frequent contact with law enforcement, etc.). The Housing Navigator will engage and develop relationships with participants, and provide support services so that secure, stable, and permeant housing may be achieved. This is a unionized position, represented by Local 8 of the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU).
ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Compass at First Presbyterian (CFP) is a welcoming space where homeless men and women can find a path out of homelessness. In addition to basic services, people can seek refuge, meals, life skills, and access to education and personal growth opportunities as well as connect with case management, entitlements and other benefits, mental health counseling and nursing services. By night, CFP opens its doors as an overnight shelter for up to 100 participants, men and women. The location is built for round-the-clock services for homeless men and women in Seattle.

LOCATION: First Presbyterian Church in downtown Seattle, WA
REPORTS TO: Program Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 7am-3pm with biweekly staff meetings Thursdays 2-4pm
SALARY RANGE: $18.58 (Level 1) or $20.09 (Level 2 MSW) per hour
QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor’s degree required, in human services or psychology, a plus. Master’s degree preferred in social work or a related field.
A minimum of 1-year experience in case management.
2+ years’ experience working in a human services setting related to housing and homelessness.
Demonstrated familiarity with issues of homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, sexual assault, and/or domestic violence, required.
Experience building supportive and respectful relationships with individuals who have experienced homelessness, and who live with mental illness and/or addiction.
