Job Description
Royal City Soccer Club (RCSC) is a non-profit, community organization started in 1993. For 30 years, we’ve hosted a unique soccer camp experience for over 300,000 children between ages 5 and 13 years. Our camps are now the largest grassroots soccer camp in Canada with over 100 locations in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia. The popularity of our camps is not only due to our program structure, but also because of the great staff we have. We will be looking to hire approximately 300 staff for July and August. Our camp operates Monday to Friday from July 2 until August 30, 2024 (excluding August 5).

CIT (Counselor-in-Training)
Responsibilities
- Works with other camp staff to run daily camp activities
- Helps to supervise campers during all aspects of camp
- Willing and able to enter and supervise campers in a swimming pool setting
- Open to being in charge of a group of campers
- Sets a good example for campers on proper behaviour and personal conduct
- Ensures a fun, safe atmosphere for all campers and staff
Hours
- Shift availability needs are 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday. Average of 35-40 hours weekly
(Exact shifts will vary based on weekly schedule, and exact pickup time of campers each day)
Wage
- $16.65 per hour (based on years of service)
Camp Counsellor
Responsibilities
- Supervises a group of campers in a camp setting
- Organizes a daily program for teaching soccer skills, games and activities to a group of campers
- Willing and able to enter and supervisor campers in a swimming pool setting
- Builds close relationships with campers in your group and is aware of individual concerns and needs
- Participates in planning special events/activities for the group or whole camp
- Sets a good example for campers on behaviour and proper personal conduct
- Ensures a fun, safe atmosphere for all campers and staff
- Provides feedback to parents on camper behaviour, conduct, and performance
Hours
- Shift availability needs are 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday. Average of 35-40 hours weekly

Wage
- $17.00 – $17.50 per hour (based on years of service)
Camp Supervisor
Responsibilities
- Manages all aspects of a camp location
- Oversees operations of a camp including programs and activities planned by camp staff
- Manages and motivates a team of staff and volunteers
- Plans, organizes, and teaches soccer and other games to a group of campers
- Ensures the safety and supervision of campers and staff
- Communicates regularly with Head Office
- Must have a vehicle to transport equipment to/from camp daily
Hours
- Shift availability needs are 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday. Average of 35-40 hours weekly

Wage
- $17.75 – $18.25 per hour (based on years of service)
- Additional bonuses available where applicable: discretionary bonus, camper bonus, sales commission and remote site bonus
Regional Coordinator
Responsibilities
- Oversees the daily operations of 5 – 8 camp locations
- Coordinates pre-season site walk through with onsite Supervisor
- Documents and collects on-site camp photos and administrative paperwork
- Acts as a liaison between Head Office and camp staff
- Ensures all staff adhere to RCSC policies and procedures including dress code
- Resolves any problems that arise at camp (camper, staff, program or facility related)
- Staff fill-in onsite as required
- Office administration as required
- Must have a reliable vehicle to transport supplies to various camp locations
Hours
- 40 hours weekly, typically 8am – 4:30pm but could vary depending on the day
Wage
- $18.50 – $19.00 per hour (based on years of service)
Qualifications of ALL camp staff
- Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent preferred (Not required for Counselor-in-Training)
- Preference given to candidates with First-Aid / CPR certification
- Athletic with prior soccer experience
- Great with children (ages 5 to 13 years)
- Strong communication skills, and a team-oriented personality
- Energetic, motivated, and enthusiastic
- Interested in teaching soccer to children
- High level of creativity & problem-solving skills
CSJ Eligibility
These positions are funded by Canada Summer Jobs program and as such, position eligibility, length of employment, and weekly hours may be adjusted based on provisions as approved and funded by this program.
