Full-Time Entry Level Roles in Media Planning & Buying
Job Description
Entry level roles in media planning & buying
We’re looking to find future Goodstuffers to join us as executives as part of our Goodstart Scheme, and this year we’re recruiting for our Client Department, Broadcast, Out-of-Home and Digital teams.
Depending on the role and department they work in the Goodstuff Executive supports their team in delivering excellence in channel planning and investment or media planning and client servicing. Working in close collaboration with their immediate team and Goodstuffers across the agency they are responsible for supporting in buying media and building channel plans or throughout the planning process – with all Goodstarters contributing towards getting to great work and delighting our clients. They are expected to develop effective Goodstuffer relationships, support the smooth and seamless running of campaigns and take on the majority of internal team admin tasks.
The interview process itself is in three stages. Firstly we ask you to answer three questions for us in your application which will be reviewed by a panel of Goodstuffers.
We then invite the successful candidates for their first interview which will last 30 mins and will be with a pair of Goodstuffers who work in the departments we are hiring for. This interview will be a standard competency-based interview where we want to find out more about you, your motivations for applying for a role within our industry, and importantly why Goodstuff.
Finally, we take a smaller group through to our assessment day where our aim is to get to know you through a variety of tasks and interviews (it’s more fun than it sounds, we promise). This is your opportunity to get to know Goodstuff and to ask as many questions as you can – it’s as much about you finding out if Goodstuff is for you, as it is for us!
Our first round of interviews will take place on 18th April, and our assessment day will take place at our offices on 8th & 16th May. You need to be available for the assessment day to move forward in the process. The role itself will start in September 2024.
If you are unable to start until later, or indeed would like to start sooner, please still apply but make sure to let us know in the ‘When can you start working’ question we ask in your application.
When thinking about what to wear for interviews – we encourage you to wear whatever you feel most comfortable and confident in. For reference, we’d describe our style as smart casual, with a leaning towards casual!
Salary for this position is £23k per year + a competitive benefits package.
The requirements
The bread and butter of what we do is media planning & buying, and for that, you need to have a head for numbers and a passion for interrogating & analysing data. You have to be able to build strong trusting relationships with your fellow Goodstuffers, our clients and media owners and be able to write a mean to-do list.
We want to meet people who are passionate about great brands and helping to build them. We will teach you how to do the day-to-day, so previous experience is by no means necessary – instead, we want to see and hear why you want to embark on a career in our industry, and most importantly why Goodstuff?
NO ASSESSMENT DAY
The interview process itself is in three stages. Firstly we ask you to answer three questions for us in your application which will be reviewed by our People Team – please use this opportunity to demonstrate your passion for media and to tell us a little more about you!
We will then invite the successful candidates for a 30-minute standard competency-based interview where we want to find out more about you, your motivations for applying for a role within our industry, and importantly why Goodstuff.
The final stage will be a 90-minute interview with a pair of Goodstuffers who work in the departments we’re hiring for. For this interview, we will brief you on preparing a presentation on a brand of your choice, that we would like you to present back to us.
The whole interview process is your opportunity to get to know Goodstuff and to ask as many questions as you can – it’s as much about you finding out if Goodstuff is for you, as it is for us!
We’re looking for candidates who are ideally available to start in September. If you are unable to start until later, please still apply but make sure to let us know in the ‘When can you start working’ question we ask in your application.

When we recruit, promote, train, or reward we do that on the basis of aptitude and ability. We help and encourage everyone at Goodstuff to realise their full potential.
