Full-Time Automotive Mechanic II
Job Description
- Perform skilled repairs on small engines, automotive, and heavy equipment.
- Diagnose, service, inspect, repair, and rebuild mechanical systems for gasoline, diesel, and alternative-powered engines/equipment.
- Inspect, analyze, and service highly complex mechanical systems using advanced diagnostic instruments and software.
- Conduct parts/systems failure analysis.
- Calibrate, adjust, and operate engine analyzers.
- Determine materials, techniques, and tools to accomplish work assignments that vary in complexity depending on the type of mechanical system and ancillary components/equipment.
- Perform recurring and non-recurring work such as electrical, suspensions, brake system repairs, and fitting/repairing more complex ancillary and specialized equipment.
- Consult with a senior technician/supervisor.
- A complete set of mechanic tools.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on 1+ of the following: light, medium, heavy-duty trucks, and/or heavy equipment.
- Diagnostics experience of electrical systems and proper wiring repairs.
- Hydraulic system repair experience, including component replacement and hoses.
- Ability to repair and maintain automotive and heavy equipment.
- Skills to diagnose problems using diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to prepare employment and equipment repair paperwork.
- Communication skills to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Agility to move parts and materials necessary to repair and maintain equipment.
- Ability to safely operate equipment for testing purposes.
- You can work in indoor and outdoor environments.
- A demonstrated commitment to providing a safe working environment by leading by example.
- Ability to read and interpret Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals, schematics, diagrams, and sketches.
- Strength to move relatively heavy objects and perform heavy lifting.
- Safety toe shoes.
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License with N endorsements. (If you don’t have this, still apply. You can get it through our on-the-job training within 360 days of hire).
- We may require work during adverse weather (snow and/or ice, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc.) that may lead to working extended daily hours, weekends, and holidays.
- We will conduct a pre-employment drug screening and background check for your past 2 years about controlled substances and alcohol testing.
- We may require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III, or Universal Technician.
- High School/GED diploma, and
- 2+ years of relevant experience, or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
