POSITION SUMMARY
The Resource Specialist will assist in the development and maintenance of the 211 health and human service resource database. The position will work in close collaboration with the United Way of Central and Southern Utah (UWCSU), United Way of Northern Utah (UWNU) and other United Ways in Utah to ensure statewide alignment and brand stewardship of resources in the database.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Data Management
- Communicate with organizations to update contact and service information to meet statewide 211 database integrity standards.
- Work with the 211 state system to develop and maintain database best practices as it relates to internal audits and reporting requests.
- Implement accreditation standards from Inform USA within the database and related projects.
- Participate in monthly peer review audit process to ensure statewide standards are met.
- Systematically update all resource data each year.
- Respond to requests from the Connection Center team to update resource data.
- Help to improve the efficiency of the information-gathering process.
- Use data to identify opportunities for improvement in processes.
Partner & Community Engagement
- Collaborate with 211 Senior Database Curator to identify opportunities to improve system and partner relationships.
- Collaborate with resource providers to update listings as needed/add listings to the database.
Training/Technical Support/Subject Matter Expertise
- Assist to troubleshoot and problem solve issues with 211 database and website.
- Coordinate taxonomy training with the Connection Center team.
Reporting/Grant Reporting
- Assist in the development and implementation of data reports to support the needs of the database team and the 211 Department.
Staff Support
- Contribute to, and support the cultivation of a positive, results and team-oriented environment that produces superior results and focuses on principles of continuous improvement.
- Attend and support Utah 211 and UWSL staff meetings.
Emergency Response Support
- Provide emergency response support, including adding new resources and aiding connection center team during disasters.
Database Curators will perform other duties as assigned.
BENEFITS
This is a full-time non-exempt position. Compensation includes a full benefits package and salary range of $34,700 – $48,500.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in social or human services or communication field OR equivalent directly related experience.
- Salesforce or similar database experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and database functions.
- Familiarity with health and human services organizations.
- Experience building and maintaining partnerships.
- Experience with data analysis is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The candidate will be regularly required to communicate clearly, and exchange accurate information interpersonally or through communication devices. Must be able to learn new systems and procedures, prepare and analyze data and figures; constantly operate a computer and other standard office machinery. The position requires occasional movement throughout the office to access files, papers, or move supplies weighing up to 25lbs. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. Able to do limited in state and out of state travel, and occasionally work evenings or weekends.
