What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The starting salary range for this position is $120,000-140,000/year, based on experience and education. Location
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. In this position you can expect to work 3 days per week on site at the Denver International Airport. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Engineer – Aviation will include: · Acts as a design team leader on complex airfield projects; including managing consultant and construction contracts, design and construction oversight and review, and stakeholder communication/coordination · Acts as a lead and subject matter expert for the airside engineering team · Attends stakeholder meetings that are controversial and/or complex in order to resolve issues and provide technical expertise · Cultivates, fosters, and maintains positive working relationships with managers, supervisors, employees, and other stakeholders to gain their cooperation and support on assigned projects · Resolves conflicts, develops creative solutions, and keeps team members focused on overall goals · Prepares and presents a variety of special engineering studies, correspondence, records, files, and reports · Supervises entry level engineer(s) and technical support staff (currently, this Senior Engineer position has one direct report vacancy that this role will be responsible for hiring) |
About You |
We are looking for someone with some or all the following skills and experience: · Five (5) or more years of experience in design for a commercial airport particularly with work in the gate area, deicing systems, runway and taxiway pavement and lighting rehab · Excellent Communication skills – verbally and in writing · Effective leadership skills · Creative problem solving and conflict resolution skills · Ability to stay current on industry trends
