Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference to the lives of young people in a forward-thinking successful College?
Due to an increase in the numbers of students, we are looking for two highly motivated and committed GCSE and FS Maths lecturers with a passion for learning and the ability to engage and motivate our students. You will have strong academic backgrounds and excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. A good subject knowledge in Maths is essential, along with a desire to work with young people and to support their education and achievements.
The successful candidate would ideally have some teaching experience and a passion for inclusivity, but we are happy to take a graduate and pay for your teacher training which will be completed here at Abingdon and Witney College. Candidates with an interest in teaching or a career within the education sector are strongly encouraged to apply. Support for aspiring lecturers would be through our award-winning Teaching Skills Academy.
The successful candidate will join an experienced and collaborative team of staff in a large faculty which also includes GCSE and FS English.
We offer excellent benefits including a comprehensive continuous professional development programme, onsite fitness facilities at the Abingdon campus, free onsite parking and lots more.
Although a teaching qualification is an advantage, training opportunities exist within the College and we can support you in gaining your Award in Education and Training Level 3 Qualification (AET), within your first year of joining the college.
This role may be eligible for the ‘Taking Teaching Further (TTF)’ programme, which supports professionals as they move into teaching in the further education sector. Support from the TTF programme can include an initial reduction in teaching workload and enrolment onto teacher training.
In return, Abingdon & Witney College offer excellent benefits to our employees including generous pension and holiday schemes (with potential Christmas closure days), continued professional development, flexible working options, corporate gym membership, cycle/tech scheme and much more.
Closing date: 19th March 2024 (midnight)
No candidate will meet every single desired qualification / criteria. If your experience looks a little different from what we’ve identified and you think you can bring value to the role, we’d love to learn more about you!
