Starting salary $6519-8248/monthly DOE

(2024 salary)

The City of Camas is seeking applicants for a full-time CARES Provider RN or Paramedic to join the Camas Washougal Fire Department team. This position reports to the EMS Division Chief, has been funded for two years and has no guarantee of work beyond that time. This position is scheduled for 40 hours per week either Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday working 10 hours/day.

The position is part of a mobile response and outreach team that coordinates and delivers health services in the community setting. The CARES Provider’s primary focus is to respond to urgent care requests, triage/assess, and connect patients to acute care services. The Provider also works to identify, engage, and connect high-need individuals to the right medical, behavioral, and social services in the community. The Provider works in collaboration with a dynamic multidisciplinary team that includes Paramedics, EMTs, Firefighters, Social Workers, and support staff.

Candidates for this position shall have:

  • Education equivalent to an associate degree or equivalent
  • Five years or more experience in a healthcare setting, home health, chronic care, or other related acute care healthcare delivery setting is preferred
  • Experience working with the elderly, or a Public Health background preferred
  • Community/outpatient setting providing care management/coordination preferred
  • Bilingual and working with underserved or vulnerable populations preferred
  • PALS/ACLS/Basic Life Support certifications
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
  • Possession of a Washington Registered Nurse or Paramedic certification, or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Possession of an appropriate, valid BLS CPR certification

The position is non-represented and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes family and domestic partner benefits such as medical, dental, and vision.  Retirement benefits are provided through the Washington State Retirement System.  Other benefits include life insurance, paid holidays, accrued vacation time, and sick time.
