Full-Time Central Settlement Associate (Req#2314)
Job Description
Manages the staff of 4 people. Coordinates and prioritizes staff work and responsibilities. Reviews and approves reconciliations of over 350 general ledger and internal DDA accounts (Daily, Monthly, Quarterly) for accuracy and timely completeness; monitors outstanding items for timely clearing. Ensures that Settlement Representatives properly correct customer’s savings accounts. Identifies and addresses potential risk and non-compliance with Audit policy and procedures. Ensures that the proper segregation of duties is always maintained.
- Develops internal controls and mechanisms to promote maximum operational efficiency; updates and amends standard operating procedures as required. Develops alternate procedures for Business Continuity Management / Disaster Recovery and participates in testing.
- Participates in bankwide initiatives for new products and services as needed. Participates in developing department’s procedures for new projects and processes.
- Updates FIS general ledger Interface tables.
- Continually revises processes to use electronic tools. Coordinates efforts to achieve the objectives of the department, develops and implements new ideas and/or concepts to achieve optimum quality and compliance of all processes within the department.
- Conducts periodic reviews of staff performance and provides guidance and counsel as required to promote individual and departmental proficiency; ensures that all staff are well trained to fulfill their respective job responsibilities.
- Reconciles the balancing of ATMs, loans, and deposits from system conversions of acquired banks.
Education and Experience
- A Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent experience is required.
- A minimum of five years of supervisory experience is required. Candidates must have a keen working knowledge of accounting
- Strong analytical skills and a high degree of knowledge of operational workflow of deposit, loans, teller, and transit departments are required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Vlookups, Pivot tables, Macros), Access and Word is essential. Knowledge of Monarch and VBA is preferred.
