Healthcare Assistant- Medical Photography

Xyla Elective Care (part of Acacium Group)

Permanent, Full Time (Monday to Friday 9am-5:30pm)

Mid and South Essex

Salary: £24,000-£27,000 per Annum plus Excellent Benefits package

We have an exciting opportunity within Xyla Elective Care for a highly motivated Healthcare Assistant to join the team. This position offers a unique opportunity for you to gain new skills within this specialist area and would include the running of a medical photography clinic. The main duty of the role is to take photographs of lesions and document on patient electronic files.

Full training will be provided for the role, and you will be supported remotely by a team of clinical and non-clinical experts. There is also opportunity to take on the extended role which would include duties such as assisting with minor surgery, chaperoning within clinics, handling liquid nitrogen, simple wound dressings and helping with the smooth running of the Department.

Everyday you will…

  • Record information and activities undertaken with patients and carers in an accurate and timely fashion using manual or computer systems as appropriate.
  • Use the appropriate equipment to photograph areas of the body as required by the GP referral.
  • To complete any relevant departmental / Trust audits as requested.
  • To assist with the safe guidance of patients, acting as escort if appropriate

To thrive in this role, you must ideally have

  • A relevant Healthcare Assistant qualification or equivalent experience
  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, clinical workforce and colleagues
  • A full UK Driving License and Access to a car
