Access to Learning (Fast Forward) are looking to appoint an ambitious and highly motivated teacher to help plan and deliver a comprehensive programme to students aged 16-19 in Witney. Fast Forward students come from a range of backgrounds, can be complex and vulnerable so need a range of skills to help them progress.
The successful candidate must have relevant experience of teaching E3/L1 learners (including functional skills) and be able to adapt to the needs of the students. This could include cooking, personal development or employment skills as well as focus on maths and English. It is important that you can empathise with their situation but set consistent boundaries for positive behaviours.
You will need to be keen to help young people achieve their full potential by developing their skills in preparation for vocational education or employment. Be a team player who has excellent communication and organisation skills to support young people to gain the relevant qualifications required as well as developing skills essential to life outside of education. A working knowledge of learners with SEND/EHCPs would be beneficial.
Although a teaching qualification is an advantage, training opportunities exist within the College and we can support you in gaining your Award in Education and Training Level 3 Qualification (AET), within your first year of joining the college.
In return, Abingdon & Witney College offer excellent benefits to our employees including generous pension and holiday schemes (with potential Christmas closure days), continued professional development, flexible working options, corporate gym membership, cycle/tech scheme and much more.
Closing date: 11th October 2023 (midnight)
Interview date: 20th October 2023
No candidate will meet every single desired qualification / criteria. If your experience looks a little different from what we’ve identified and you think you can bring value to the role, we’d love to learn more about you!
