Job Role: Housing Management Officer
Salary: £23,240 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 9am – 5pm
Contract type: Permanent
Location: Taunton, Somerset
Additional information:
- On-call (1 in 4 weeks), £100/week when on-call
- Covering 9 properties across Somerset
The Role:
This role is an exciting new role that will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of housing management across 9 properties. You will work to ensure that voids are minimised and that rent, and service accounts are maintained effectively. Collaborating closely with the refuge team, your work will ensure appropriate action is taken to address rent arrears and charges including the support of SMART payment plans which work towards savings and good financial management.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure that the refuge accommodation is maintained to a high standard in accordance with Julian House policies and procedures, with particular reference to Health and Safety.
- As required, you may need to prepare rooms for intakes quickly and efficiently, enabling new referrals into the service – this may include tasks such as clearing and cleaning rooms.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive stock inventory and liaise with the Service Manager when stocks are running low.
- To test and record fire alarms checks weekly.
- To carry out and record monthly Fire and Health and Safety checks in accordance with Julian House policies and procedure
- To ensure that all rent and service charge accounts are up to date, monitored regularly and that relevant action is taken in line with Julian House procedures.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- A valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle – business insurance will be required for roles involving travel to work
- Experience working as part of a team in a social or health care setting
- Previous work with survivors of domestic abuse or homeless and/or other socially excluded people is desirable
