Although it’s an advantage if you’ve experience of working in the health and specifically cancer arena your sound Benefits Advisory experience will fit our service no matter where your advice background sits.
As you’ll focus on providing Benefits Advice for our terminally ill clients you’ll be supporting our partnership work with external stakeholders in this area. We work across all Welsh Health Boards and a variety of partners and so we’re talking to you if you enjoy building partnerships and networks, and can see opportunities for development and joint working.

You will be developing networks of partner organisations, to ensure that the people who most need our services can access them.
You’ll also be working with volunteers to help them develop their experience in this field and getting involved in managing them.
It’s a busy and involved role so you’ll need to be able to concentrate and handle your caseload effectively. You’ll be supported by an admin team to help keep things going smoothly but you’ll need excellent IT skill and experience of using databases. You will have the ability to create easy to use resources for clients, to breakdown essential information to help people plan and take control in the later stages if their illness.
You’ll be constantly using and updating your knowledge of the welfare benefits system, legislation and policy in this specialism. You’ll be giving advice directly to our service users around their benefits, financial entitlements and rights to help them when they really need us.
