Full-Time Foreign Exchange Relationship Manager (Req#2289)

Job Description

Manage a group of Foreign Exchange Client Relationships accounting for over $75 million in foreign exchange volume.  Work closely with all business areas to develop and assist in customer and prospect sales.  Follow up directly, providing a high level of product expertise, with customer and prospect referrals.  Assure that assigned clients comply with Bank risk management procedures (Compliance, BSA/AML, FX procedures and credit limits).

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Provides day-to-day management of portfolio of client relationships ensuring client retention and receipt of superior service.
  • Work closely with internal relationship managers (Commercial, Treasury, etc.) to identify foreign exchange prospects, cross sale opportunities, sales calls, prepare proposals and close new business.
  • Assure that prospective and assigned clients transact business in full compliance with Bank policies and procedures (Compliance, BSA/AML, Bank and product documentation, risk and transaction limits).
  • Act as financial resource to clients, providing advice and guidance on foreign exchange products and services, techniques and procedures.
  • Develops an annual service plan for assigned portfolio. Call on clients on a regular basis and conducts business reviews with major clients.
  • Maintain contemporary knowledge of financial developments in foreign economies that may affect a client’s ability to do business internationally

PROBLEM SOLVING & DECISION MAKING:  

This position requires a strong understanding of complex foreign exchange mehodologies and the ability to make qualitative and quantitative anaylsis on markets and trade ideas in order to provide useful guidance to the customer base. The fast-paced, volatile market conditions require critical thinking and high-level analytical skills and the ability to independently make decisions with occasional consulting with Senior Vice President.  This person is able to evalutate circumstances and make autonomous decisions that take the Bank, Department, individual and customer impact into account, while protecting all.  This person must have a high level of expertise regarding foreign exchange, FX risk, corporate compliance, as well as the ability to identify and refer possible cross-sale opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 4-5 years experience directly servicing foreign exchange customers

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and electronic trading systems
  • Broad exposure to international economic events through study and experience
  • Ability to clearly and concisely convey market views and knowledge in writing and verbally
  • Possess strong interpersonal and sales skills necessary to develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Handle a high level of detail with accuracy in a complex, time-sensitive operating environment.
