Learning & Curriculum Support Librarian
Temporary Full-time, November 6, 2023 – To be determined (12 or 18 months)
Salary Grade 7 – $32.99
Reporting to the Director of Library Services and working in support of Brescia’s institutional Competencies, the Learning and Curriculum Support Librarian is team leader of the Library’s information literacy, curriculum support, and reference programs. Key responsibilities include leading university-wide information literacy curriculum development and assessment, information literacy instruction for in-person and online courses in both single-session and embedded environments and providing pedagogical support to the other instruction librarians. This role is also responsible for the overall direction, management and assessment of reference and research support services. As part of our liaison program, the successful candidate will be responsible for collection development, reference support, and library outreach for several of Brescia’s academic programs.
The Learning and Curriculum Support Librarian position requires an energetic individual, knowledgeable in information literacy, instructional design, eLearning, and outcomes-based education. An ALA-accredited Master of Library and Information Science degree plus at least three years experience teaching information literacy or equivalent experience is required. The successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of best pedagogical practices for information literacy and higher education. Extremely strong communication, project management, and time management skills are required. The successful candidate must be an independent and creative problem solver, able to work autonomously in areas of responsibility while collaborating with other members of the library team. This position also requires experience in public services for regularly scheduled service desk shifts. Regular hours of work are Monday – Friday during business hours, however, some evening hours are required.
