PURPOSE:

Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant performs full cycle accounting activities for high-risk financial statement areas. During monthly close, the Senior Accountant prepares and/or reviews the Wondr Health Reconciliations. The Senior Accountant will interact with all levels of employees.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Review journal entries and work papers prepared by Staff Accountant such as cash, prepaids, and accruals.
  • Perform the day-to-day full cycle accounting activities for high-risk areas such as bad debt expense, inventory, fixed assets, and accrued interest. Including preparing journal entries and supporting schedules.
  • Create and maintain fixed asset records in our accounting database and reconcile fixed asset schedules monthly.
  • Update sales orders and prepare monthly unbilled revenue accrual.
  • Assist in cash collections on aged receivables.
  • Contribute to the development or improvement of accounting procedures and workpapers.
  • Assist in mentoring junior members of the accounting team.
  • Supports the annual financial audit by providing supporting schedules and documentation for external auditors.
  • Prepares and files monthly and quarterly sales tax returns.
  • Perform ad-hoc projects. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong understanding of General Ledger systems
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to operate in a fast paced, demanding environment requiring management of multiple, time-sensitive deliverables.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and proficiency with Excel (VLOOKUP, sumifs, pivot tables)
  • Proficiency in NetSuite and FloQast is preferred. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education:     Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 

Experience:    Three+ years of accounting experience

GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

General office working conditions can be remote work from home or in the office. Each department head determines if position is work from home or hybrid meaning works from home and in the office as needed. Work schedules vary. When working in the office pod workstation area has little or no privacy. Involves extended periods of sitting at a workstation performing computer duties. Constant flow of interruptions by personnel, visitors to the area and telephone calls. Private workstations are available as needed. Certain positions are assigned to an office.
