We are seeking a R&D Accounting Lead in our Broomfield, CO Location. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated R&D accounting lead in Broomfield, CO to join our finance team. In this role, you will be on a team that is responsible for accurate accounting of thousands of highly complex constructed fixed assets, accurate forecasting of $70M+ of annual capital spend and depreciation expense as well as creating robust processes to ensure adherence to GAAP and internal policies. You will lead budgeting cycles for capital spend, perform fixed asset verification audits, and drive continuous cross-functional training across the organization. Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and execute strategy to cross-functional team on how ensure timely and accurate capitalizations for hundreds of capital projects that will result in highly complex constructed assets
  • Lead weekly cross-functional Asset Under Construction (AUC) meetings and provide guidance to team on where to focus efforts for the coming week(s), apply expertise of GAAP to ensure capital policy is being followed, and track progress through metrics
  • Partner with technical leaders to gather capital requirements for Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long Range Plan (LRP), ensuring that capital requests fit within overall targets
  • Create driver-based scenario planning for depreciation forecasting, clearly outlaying impact to the Profit and Loss Statement (P&L) to CFO
  • Establish process to capture budget swaps and ensure technical leaders understand how they are performing to budget
  • Prepare and present monthly capital Management Operating Review (MOR) to Sr. Finance Manager and CFO
  • Optimize capitalization process and review all capitalizations for accuracy prior to being transacted in SAP
  • Create tools and process to walk PPE balances by asset and validate attributes of assets are correct such as inception to date (ITD) depreciation, useful life, asset class and others
  • Establish fixed asset audit process including roles and responsibilities, scope and metrics and execute process annually
  • Write Property, Plant and Equipment (PPE) policy around impairment testing and institute a process for capturing documentation regarding results
  • Provide training across the organization around capital vs. expense as well as the constructed asset structure
  • Review all capital purchases ensuring GAAP and internal policies are met
  • Validate accuracy of internal reporting (AUC reports, capital reports, PPE and Software walks)
  • Manage and provide day-to-day work direction for capital accountant
  • Perform ad-hoc projects including, but not exclusive, to fixed assets

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a direct or indirect leadership role
  • Applicants for employment for this position must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Quantinuum. (i.e., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (OPT), TN visa or any other non-immigrant status)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization
  • Ability to simplify technical accounting rules to other functions
  • Attention to detail and the ability to analyze substantial amounts of data

Compensation & Benefits:

Non-Incentive Eligible

Estimated Salary Wage: $115,000 – $130,000 Annually
