The Vice President of People & Culture is a new strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of the organization’s people and culture functions. The VP of People & Culture plays a critical role in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the company’s overall goals and objectives. This position requires a seasoned professional who can develop and, with a strong understanding of HR best practices, legal compliance, employee development, and organizational culture. The role is not just a strategist, but also a doer who is deeply involved in day-to-day HR operations, employee engagement, and fostering a thriving organizational culture. The VP of People & Culture participates as a member of the Leadership Team and is key in advancing the organizational vision by partnering to build and implement new organizational strategies and refining current systems and processes related to people and culture that enhance diversity, equity, inclusion, various abilities and belonging. This role requires an experienced professional who can drive HR initiatives that directly impact the workforce, while strategically aligning them with the company’s broader mission. This is a
hybrid position.

 

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic HR Leadership:

  • Develop and execute HR strategies that support HTT’s short-term and long-term business objectives.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on organizational structure, talent acquisition, employee retention, and workforce planning.
  • Directs, administers, leads and implements the development of HR policies, programs, and initiatives in all areas of people and culture including recruitment (part-time and full-time), HRIS, employee retention and recognition, compensation, benefits administration, training and development, performance management and organizational development.

Talent Acquisition and Management:

  • Oversee and participate in the recruitment and selection process to attract and retain top-tier talent that reflects the communities we serve.
  • Develop and implement effective onboarding processes to seamlessly integrate new employees into the organization.
  • Design and manage performance management programs, including setting goals, conducting performance reviews, and offering developmental feedback.

Employee Relations and Engagement:

  • Foster and enable a positive and inclusive culture that promotes employee engagement, teamwork, open communication, coaching and feedback that welcomes working through a lens of possibility.
  • Address employee concerns, conflicts and grievances, to ensure fair and consistent resolution in accordance with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to boost employee morale and job satisfaction.

Organizational Development:

  • Identify opportunities for organizational improvements and growth, working with leadership to drive change management efforts.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation throughout the organization.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive organizational development strategy and systems, integrating diversity and inclusion as core pillars for growth.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Oversee the design and administration of equitable and competitive compensation benefits packages.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations regarding compensation, benefits, and other HR-related matters.
  • Develop and execute a compensation strategy that ensures pay equity, transparency, and alignment with industry standards.

Legal and Regulatory Compliance:

  • Maintains knowledge of laws, labor relations, regulations, and best practices in talent management.
  • Ensure proper record-keeping and documentation related to HR matters.
  • Identifies and mitigates risk across the organization related to all aspects of talent, health, and workforce safety issues and ensures appropriate compliance with federal and state employment laws

Diversity, Equity, Inclusive, Ability & Belonging (DEIAB):

  • Stewards a culture that promotes DEIAB within the workplace.
  • Coach and train various stakeholders throughout the organization to raise DEIAB awareness.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to create a culture that values and respects individual differences.

People and Culture (P & C) Metrics and Reporting:

  • Develop and monitor key metrics to measure the effectiveness of P &C programs and initiatives.
  • Provide regular reports to the executive team on P & C -related performance and trends.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or requisite work experience in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Develop and manage an annual budget for People & Culture department operating and capital expenditures.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in HR, including leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align people initiatives with business objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience in organizational development, talent management, change management and employee engagement, M&A experience preferred.
  • Strong practitioner of Human Resources skills; ability to develop and maintain appropriate HR infrastructure to support a growing organization.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include some weekends, nights and holidays as required.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring team to achieve successful results.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing, dynamic, and fun environment to work
  • Must be able to effectively interact with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and personalities.
  • Professional certifications such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR are a plus.
