About the role:

Bring your enthusiasm, tenacity, and business-outcome focused experience to lead the Quality Management journey at Xperi. As Senior Director, Quality Management at Xperi, you will be the company’s top quality advocate both to our internal business divisions and our customers. Xperi’s customers are looking for standards-driven product quality from Xperi and, in this role, you will lead the organization through the business transformation necessary to reach these goals, with a primary focus our automotive industry segment. Xperi operates in four (4) distinct industry segments: Automotive (a.k.a., Connected Car), Consumer Electronics, Pay-TV, and SmartTV. This role reports to the Senior Vice President, Product Engineering Operations as an enterprise-wide role. Our Connected Car division has achived ISO-9001 certification, and is developing Automotive-SPICE capabilities.

The Senior Director, Quality Management, is a key leader who will drive our corporate level quality management system, quality management practices, and quality assessments across our industry segements in alignment with our overall business strategy. You will lead a global team of quality engineers to drive our corporate quality management system and guide standards-based quality programs (primarily ISO-9001 and A-SPICE) within business units that have adopted those standards.

What you will get to do:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and improvement of the Quality Management strategy and system across the enterprise.
  • Structure, mentor, and monitor an organization (i.e., people, processes, and tools) that delivers against objectives as a high performance team.
  • Ensure the quality management system operates in support of the company strategy and drives positive businesss value for the organization.
  • Collaborate with functional business leaders across the organization to development and lead programs to meet required quality standards.
  • Monitor and advise on the performance of the quality management programs and standards compliance.
  • Produce/collect data, track key measures, and report on performance.
  • Communicate with customers on Xperi’s quality management practices and adherence for requested customer engagements.
  • Facilitate quality assessments and audits.
  • Develop educational materials and communicate the benefits and practices of quality management across the organization.
  • Lead a global team of quality engineers.
  • Plan, monitor, and manage the team budget and actively participate in annual planning cycles.

Who we are looking for:

Must have:

  • Practical leadership experience in quality management, particularly in the automotive industry for software and machine learning technologies and products.
  • More than (ten) 10 years professional experience in leading quality management teams and program that result is positive business outcomes.
  • Five or more (5+) years of development experience on complex, software-enabled systems.
  • Enthusiam, determination, and mentoring skills to influence and collaborate across a complex enterprise environment.
  • Business transformation experience in introducting and evolving quality management practices in business units.
  • Conducted multiple quality standards-based assessments and/or audits.
  • Expert level knowledge in quality management and assurance; Automoitve SPICE, ISO-9001, functional safety, etc.
  • Ability to translate company strategies into executable goals, deliverables, and actions.
  • Proven ability to grow and develop a team of highly capable quality engineers.
  • Willingness to travel globally as business needs requires.
  • A-SPICE Provisional Assesor certification required (Competent or Principal preferred).
  • Experience conducting ISO-9001 assessments.

Nice to have:

  • CMMI, Six Sigma, Automotive Safety (ASIL) or other quality practices experience.
  • Process design and engineering experience.
  • Business proficiency in English and one or more other languages (e.g., German, Romanian, Japanese, or Chinese).

The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is $161,057 – $213,400 plus bonus, equity and benefits, and can vary if outside of this location. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
