About the role
As the Civic Operations Officer, you will be an ambassador for the University of Derby as a Civic Anchor Institution. You will build strong connections with external stakeholders and partners as well as within internal departments including, for example, the knowledge exchange team and colleagues in research. The aim is to bring to fruition opportunities for University of Derby to deliver economic, social, and cultural benefit.
You will play a vital role in in managing the strategic delivery for the University’s Civic University Agreement, whilst ensuring impact, learning and business opportunities are delivered. In addition to this, you will work in conjunction with the Associate Professor (Civic) on the delivery of key projects within the Civic Team, by providing project oversight on the co-ordination, administration, logistic and marketing for flagship projects, CivicLAB and other key areas of business.
The University of Derby’s Civic activity is being embedded across the University. The activity will make a significant contribution to the Academic Themes and Civic Goals now set out and our Strategic Framework. We are a University for our people and for our place. You will report to the Associate Professor (Civic) and work closely alongside a dedicated team to elevate the profile and impact of the Civic. You will support the Associate Professor (Civic) in delivering the Civic University Agreement with the signatories and identify additional partners and stakeholders in order to grow a programme and fulfil this high-profile work creating real impact for the University as a Civic institution.
You will work collaboratively, building positive working relationships across the Civic Team and with other key internal and external Civic signatories and stakeholders. You will strive for excellence, providing the best opportunities and experiences for our communities and our stakeholders.
You will have a passion for working with others to achieve high quality outcomes in a high achieving, ambitious, sporting environment. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to build excellent rapport with internal and external colleagues.
£30,950 To £34,027 per annum (for exceptional performers, there is scope for further progression up to £39,131 per annum)
