As a Counter Support Assistant, you will be expected to:
- Co-ordinate and facilitate all customer requirements within a growing trade supply, regional branch. A predominantly trade counter, sales-based role, you will be the main point of contact for a general and dedicated customer base, ensuring excellent customer service is up kept at all times and opportunities to generate increased sales opportunities for the business executed.
- Commit to equality and diversity and to promote non-discriminatory practices in all aspects of work undertaken.
- Adhere with the Health and Safety at Work Act to take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts and omissions.
To be successful in a Counter Support Assistant role, the skills you will need:
- Experience in raising customer orders, purchase orders and dealing general customer enquires using a dedicated ERP system.
- Ability to prioritise and manage workload to meet strict deadlines.
- Self-motivated with enthusiasm, commitment and drive and ability to work under pressure and still produce a high standard of work.
- Ability to work as a member of a fast-paced team.
- Ability to be flexible, multi-skilled and willing to go the extra-mile.
- Excellent communication skills, possessing the ability to communicate with staff at all levels of the Organisation across multiple communication channels including Teams and face-to-face.
- Excellent communication skills, able to communicate across multiple channels including Microsoft Teams, Face to Face and Email.
Experience or Knowledge of the below would be advantageous but not essential:
- Experience of working on a builder’s merchant trade counter.
- Experience of dealing directly with key account customers face-to-face, via telephone and email.
- Experience of working within a building supplies Industry.
- Experience in meeting and exceeding set KPI’s and targets.
- A thorough understanding and strong commitment to Equal Opportunities Policy issues, demonstrating a commitment to working effectively with an Equal Opportunities Framework
