Earnings: £28,015 per annum

The Maintenance Team at YMCA DLG work across multiple properties to give our residents a good quality, safe home, working closely with project staff to identify repairs required, make repairs, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and to make empty homes ready for re-occupation.

As Senior Maintenance Worker you will supervise a small team of maintenance workers within Brighton & Hove. You will provide a maintenance, caretaking and cleaning service which enables the provision of accommodation, which is psychologically informed, safe, warm, homely and welcoming. You will also prioritise the workload according to impact on the service and young people, managing and keeping records of your time and workload. In addition, you will identify where work expectations exceed capacity, or if external contractors are required to complete technical tasks, and you will ensure that properties are compliant with health and safety legislation.

This role is based on site, with an expected working pattern of Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.

The successful applicant will have previous experience of managing a team and will have experience of working in pressurised situations. You will be a proven problem solver who is able to prioritise your time and that of others in order to provide the best possible service. You will have excellent people skills and be able to communicate effectively with residents, contractors, maintenance staff, project staff and managers.
