Position Summary
The Director of Dual Enrollment Programs is responsible for the leadership of all dual enrollment programs at Tacoma Community College (TCC). These programs include Fresh Start (Open Doors), Running Start, College in the High School, and Career and Technical Education (CTE) Dual Credit. Reporting to the Dean of Enrollment, this full-time, twelve-month position is responsible for supervising and evaluating program staff; implementation, monitoring and evaluation of instructional and support services; maintaining compliance; establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal and external constituents; recruitment, retention and completion of program participants, and maintaining fiscal and program accountability.
Essential Functions
- Supervise program staff and their daily activities; support and promote their professional development and growth; coordinate training as needed.
- Provide equity-based leadership in staffing, curriculum development, support services programming, and program evaluation.
- Acts as primary contact for dual enrollment programs within the college and externally.
- Participate in the development and tracking of program budgets. Make recommendations for expenditures based on unit action plans and anticipated areas of growth.
- Identify student needs and communicates with TCC instructional and student services administrators regarding scheduling of courses for students, in addition to student goals and success issues.
- Interpret and implement state regulations applicable to the programs and ensure internal accountability.
- Ensure effective enrollment processes; implement a system of monitoring students’ academic progress, and oversee the maintenance of accurate student records.
- Act as a liaison with school districts and promotes professional cooperation with counselors, registrars and administrators in reference to Dual Enrollment policies and procedures, courses equivalencies, academic standing, enrollment levels, student success issues, and student’s ability to benefit from the different programs.
- Serve as point of contact for student, parent, or school personnel with grievances regarding program policies.
- Manage the book loan programs
- Coordinate administration of state-mandated testing.
- Coordinate the collection of data to support success in meeting program objectives.
- Prepare quarterly and annual reports.
- Ensure community involvement by establishing connections with community-based organizations.
- Coordinate with the Outreach and Marketing departments to collaboratively market and promote Dual Enrollment programs. This includes participating in TCC outreach activities to local high schools and serves as an information resource to the Center for Student Advocacy and Cultural Support and other TCC offices. Represents TCC at Information Nights, high schools, and college fairs when needed.
Duties of the position require knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Master’s Degree in Student Services Administration, Counseling, Educational Administration or closely related field.
- Three years professional level experience working with program development, evaluation, budget management and personnel supervision.
- Three years’ experience working with Dual Enrollment programs.
- Demonstrated success working effectively with ethnically and culturally diverse populations and knowledge of educational dynamics associated with these populations.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
