Gareth Stacey House and Lansworth House are a Supported Housing Service for young people aged 16 to 25 who have been through the care system or have experienced homelessness. Our key purpose is to support young people to develop independent living skills so they can move forward to more independent settings.

The Night Support Worker provides responsive and supportive services to residents who may need assistance, and ensures that the building is safe, secure, and welcoming throughout the night. In this role, you will proactively promote the services on offer and maximise the wellbeing of residents by ensuring adherence to house rules and health and safety protocols. You will also check the communal areas regularly and address any instances of anti-social behaviour promptly. In addition, you will record all incidents and accidents, share this appropriately with the team and complete effective handovers with day staff. The majority of your working hours will involve lone working.

Based on site, you will work four nights on and four nights off on a seven-day rolling rota, including weekends and bank holidays, working across two sites from 10pm – 8am.

The successful applicant will have good interpersonal skills and will be able to build and maintain strong relationships. You will also have experience of working in a customer facing environment and the ability to remain calm and solution-focused when dealing with challenging behaviour. You will have the ability to maintain professional boundaries, a basic understanding of the support needs of young people and/or adults at risk and knowledge of good safeguarding procedures in relation to these groups. In addition, you will have the ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, for appropriate record keeping.
