NEW HIGHER PAY:  $36,682 – $64,194
The Challenge
We’re looking for an Automotive Parts Supervisor to join our Durham Equipment Shop team.
In this role, you will:
    • Supervise our equipment fleet support operations team that purchases, receives, sorts, issues, and maintains inventory of equipment repair parts.
    • Get quotes and purchase materials less than $5,000.
    • Solicit quotes and requisition materials over $5,000 through NCDOT Purchasing.
    • Check incoming materials and invoices for accuracy, approve payments, and enter into our online database (SAP) for further processing.
    • Lead emergency purchases for non-inventory items.
    • Use material forecasting to determine sufficient stock levels and adjust requirements accordingly.
    • Review new equipment master data to determine need for additional stock items.
    • Assure all materials are  received in a timely manner for daily operations of 7 equipment shops, including inventory and non-inventory materials.
    • Research repair parts from equipment history and parts manual.
    • Coordinate and prioritize emergency need of equipment repair materials with our equipment superintendent.
    • Procure materials for other NCDOT agencies as requested.
What You Bring
    • Working knowledge of parts procurement.
    • Experience with inventory procedures and/or purchasing experience.
    • Ability to identify automotive/construction equipment parts using websites, catalogs, and/or physical inspections.
    • Knowledge of parts procurement and inventory procedures for light/heavy vehicle and construction-type equipment parts.
    • Physical inventory maintenance procedures experience (i.e., daily, and annual spot checks/counting).
    • Computer skills in general business software (Microsoft Office), online databases (e.g., SAP), and data entry, including invoicing and purchasing.
    • Light/Medium truck and forklifts operations experience.
Notes
    • Safety toe footwear is required.
    • This role is subject to emergency call backs.
Education & Experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree; or
    • An equivalent combination of training and experience.
