Primary Purpose:
Lead customer/site host engagement for electric vehicle car charging infrastructure programs. Manage customer relationship and ensure customer commitment to procure electric vehicles, including all program pre-requisites (i.e., sign contract, sign easement/license agreement, secure billing preference, EVSP selection and pay participation payment). Proactively work with customer to educate on all aspects of EV program portfolio, and gain commitment within their own organizations. Effectively collaborate with internal departments, stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and vendors to define requirements, assess alternatives, and present solutions to business challenges for site hosts. Responsible for managing a heavy project load throughout the customer solutions life cycle and tracking and reporting schedules.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing a heavy project load throughout the customer solutions life cycle and tracking and reporting schedules. Work with other project team members (electrical & civil designers) to develop charging solutions and site development plans that meet program requirements and satisfy customer. Serve as customer liaison to various internal departments including but not limited to Land Services, Accounts Payable, Customer Outreach, Regional Public Affairs, Community Affairs, Legal, Project Management and Construction Services. Organize internal teams to address specific customer issues. Responsible for establishing project schedule for time sensitive new construction projects, schools, etc. Represent customer perspective on infrastructure project development. Negotiate terms and conditions and easements/license agreement, with support from legal and land services.
- Customer Engagement/Sales/Customer Relationship Management: Lead customer/site host engagement and secure sale/commitment of participation in electric vehicle car charging infrastructure programs. Manage the customer relationship and expectations to ensure a successful partnership and participation in program. Proactively work with customers to educate on all aspects of programs, and gain commitment within their own organizations. Present customized presentations to support sale and site recruitment to customers and respond to all customer program inquiries. Is accountable to report on project statuses, and secure customer commitments to meet program and project completion schedules.
- Provide process improvement input in all aspects of customer/site host sales, throughout program life cycles (program set-up through implementation and completion).
- Represent the EV charging infrastructure program and all clean transportation related portfolio of offerings in marketing opportunities with potential customers and pursue opportunities to speak publicly about initiatives and programs critical to the success of the department. Work with customer and community stakeholder groups to ensure the inclusion of Clean Transportation initiatives in media relations, public affairs, community relations, and all outreach efforts. Coordinate with other project team members to develop marketing strategies for site hosts and drivers and develops and implements driver education and engagement strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree Marketing, Business, Communications, Engineering or equivalent.
- 6 years – Experience in customer service, account management, billing, sales, or related field.
- Possess excellent communication skills to make persuasive presentations and written proposals on technical subject matters.
- Strong understanding of SDG&E EV and commercial tariff rate structures.
- Must have the ability to quickly grasp and respond to political issues, be adept at negotiation and persuasion to effectively represent the company at community outreach events and/or workshops and excel at establishing consistent communication across the company.
- Possess strong customer service skills that demonstrate a good understanding of customer attitudes, needs and how customers make purchasing decisions (i.e., operational needs, financial/pay-back requirements, budgeting cycles, technological preferences, and biases, etc.).
- Familiarity with electric end-use applications and equipment.
- Understanding of complexities of customer contract negotiation and adherence to audit compliance on customer contracts.
- Requires strong project management skills in a technical sales environment.
- Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
- We offer a hybrid work environment. Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow you to work from the office two to three days per week and work remotely on the remaining workdays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) & LEED certification.
- EV Infrastructure experience.
