Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of the Fleet Sustainability Manager is to drive towards and enable the transition of SDG&E’s current fleet to a 100% electric vehicle (EV) fleet by 2035. The Fleet Sustainability Manager will lead change management efforts for the fleet transition to include understanding our fleet acquisition/transition plan, EV charging requirements and planning as well as Hydrogen fueling requirements and coordinating the teams that oversee systems development (EV Charging / Hydrogen fueling management systems). The Fleet Sustainability Manager will need to have a solid grasp of the breadth of SDG&E’s operations across both the electric and gas domains as well as experience with implementing systems involving significant change management efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads the development and implementation of plans to enable SDG&E’s fleet and facilities transition, specifically related to the transition to a fully ZEV fleet by 2035. Understands SDG&E’s fleet vehicle procurement / replacement plan and leads the change management and EV Charging / Hydrogen Fueling planning efforts including systems support. Leads strategy for charging infrastructure related to SDG&E’s fleet.
  • Partners closely with Facilities and all operations teams to ensure the transition to plug-in and hydrogen fueled vehicles is efficient and effective.
  • Advises / influences executive stakeholders and obtains buy-in and support. Communicates with all levels of management including operating groups regarding acquisition, maintenance and fueling strategies for EV and Hydrogen/EV vehicles.
  • Strategizes and executes on the internal communications, education, and change management plan to enable the transition of SDG&E’s current fleet to a 100% ZEV fleet by 2035.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree Business Administration, Finance or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years Change management experience generally gained through high level or leadership involvement in the implementation of new systems and / or processes. Experience leading large initiatives across the company.
  • Strong collaboration skills to coordinate with Facilities, Clean Transportation and other operational groups.
  • Ability to influence decisions on EV charging infrastructure and systems.
  • Ability to lead the change management process for the fleet sustainability transition including helping to enable user / operator acceptance, technician training and other related work.
  • Ability to analyze data and provide forecasting related to the fleet sustainability transition.
  • Must have a valid CA Driver License and clean record.
  • May travel up to 10% of the time within the service territory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree Preferred
  • 3 years Experience in the fleet industry, vehicle electrification and/or hydrogen fuel cell vehicle space.
  • Ability to develop and implement systems.
  • Must be able to provide financial analysis and evaluation.
  • Ability to consult/advise on EV training program for the Fleet maintenance team.

Work Schedule
HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 2-3 days per week.

$106,300.00 – $159,500.00
