We are looking for a Support Project Worker to join our dynamic team at YMCA Horsham. We provide safe and secure accommodation and opportunities for young people who have been made, or are at risk of becoming, homeless. In this role, you will support a caseload of young people or adults at risk, providing supported housing services and coaching them so they can articulate and achieve their aspirations and ambitions, and acquire the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives. You will work creatively and effectively alongside young people to inspire and encourage them to develop their talents as they seek employment, volunteering, and training opportunities. You will also coach young people to manage their occupancy agreement and adhere to house rules, in preparation for independent living. In addition, you will promote a credit culture, encouraging young people to keep up to date with all payments for rent.

Based on site, this role is on a rolling rota, working 5 days per week including weekends and bank holidays. You will get to know the team and project, along with extensive training prior to starting on a rota.

A successful applicant will love being involved in the support and growth of young people and will be able to actively encourage residents into education, training and employment. You will be passionate about supporting young people to lead independent lives. Ideally, you will have specific knowledge and experience of working with young people leaving care. You will be able to use your skills to ensure the progression of young people and have the will to learn about the key risks, challenges and opportunities for young people.
