Functional Skills Lecturer  

£30.000 – £38.869 – per annum,  

37 hours per week 

The working pattern is Monday to Thursday 7.5 hours per day, Friday 7 hours per day 

52 weeks per annum 

Abingdon Campus 

Permanent

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lecturer for our dynamic work-based learning provision to delivery outstanding Functional Skills maths and English lessons to our Apprentices and Traineeship students. Apprenticeships and Traineeships are to help young people to fast track their career and help them to get to the next level giving them a head start and you can be part of their journey and make a real difference. 

The post holder must hold relevant qualifications and experience to be able to deliver up to and including L2 maths and English Functional Skills. 

This post will include flexible delivery models of day release, block release and some 1-2-1 support sessions with the possibility of some evening classes across all 3 of our main sites Abingdon, Witney and our new Bicester site.

You will be expected to strive to maintain good or outstanding success rates in all areas, using innovation within your teaching and assessing, utilising e-learning opportunities where appropriate.
You should be a skilled communicator and have excellent organisational skills. You should be qualified to degree level or equivalent and have a recognised teaching qualification. 

 

Although a teaching qualification is an advantage, training opportunities exist within the College and we can support you in gaining your Award in Education and Training Level 3 Qualification (AET), within your first year of joining the college.
