About Us
More people than ever are living with cancer in Wales, with around 20,000 people diagnosed every year.
We give help, hope, and a voice to everyone affected by cancer. We understand how cancer can impact every aspect of life and how it affects families and friends too. Our wide range of services offer information, advice, and specialist support to people living with cancer, and their loved ones.
Together with our inspiring community of staff, volunteers, and supporters, we’re determined to be here for everyone affected today, tomorrow, and beyond.
Join Us!
We’re looking for a like-minded professional to join us in connecting Welsh communities to support emotional and social wellbeing following a cancer diagnosis.. We’re driven to support more people affected by cancer to have access and directly benefit from a wider range of effective support services in Wales, no matter who they are or where they are.
It’s about ‘US’ engaging with people across Wales on their doorsteps so we can deliver and signpost to the right cancer support services to meet peoples unique needs and circumstances.
We’re passionate about doing this through volunteering, partnership working and providing a range of effective support services and we need you to manage this if this is your line of work.
The Job
Working closely with our Head of Support Services you’ll be responsible for managing a team of people and volunteers and take the lead on developing our community engagement work. You’ll be a relationship builder and networker as there’s a focus on developing strategic relationships on a local and national level. This means there will be elements of travel sometimes required across Wales as you deliver this work.
You’ll be keeping things on track and evaluating the community engagement work programme. So, there’ll be reports, figures and stats for you to keep on top of and present at senior level.
It’s the type of job where you really do need to be able to effectively communicate, motivate and inspire everyone we meet and work with. This could be working with our own fundraisers applying for external funding, collaborating with our Volunteer Development Team and focussing on our Sing With Us service to keep it embedded at the heart of the organisation.
You’ll be line managing our Community Engagement and Sing With Us teams too so you’ll bring good people management experience with you and demonstrate great interpersonal, organisational and solution-finding skills.
So, we could be a good match if your CV shows that you have:
- Practical experience in the Third Sector, health, social justice or social care organisations
- Experience of working with volunteers
