As Internal Communications Officer, you will be part of a small team that supports staff through a range of services. Your role will focus on internal communications methods such as intranet, blogs and bulletins. We believe that all staff matter and aim to welcome, inspire and support them through a range of creative communications that are designed to engage, inspire and inform.

You will work to develop and support our creative internal communications and events that inform, inspire, and connect the 370+ colleagues at YMCA DownsLink Group. Your work will increase awareness of, and engagement with, YMCA DLG through successful internal communications at all levels of the organisation. This is an essential post that will keep us all connected, up to date, and motivated. You will lead on a communications plan and calendar, working across YMCA DLG to generate and upload inspiring content. You will have a strong link to those working in external communications, sharing suitable stories and planning announcements and good news stories.

This is a hybrid role, working onsite and from home – the shift pattern can be discussed at interview.

Our ideal candidate will be organised and creative, able to write content quickly with skill and appropriate sensitivity. You will have experience with the editorial processes and content generation and will be able to engage with staff at every level of YMCA DLG. You will also have great interpersonal skills, with experience of relationship building with stakeholders. You will have strong verbal and written communication skills and editing / proof-reading skills. You will have excellent organisation and time management skills, enabling you to manage multiple projects. In addition, you will have a good working knowledge of MS Office 365 Suite, Mail Chimp (or other mail distribution platform) and WordPress.
