In this dual role, the Brand & Licensing Manager will report to the Brand & Licensing Director, based in London office.  The successful candidate will work with the broader Boat Rocker Studios team to deliver & grow the portfolio of brands focussed mainly around the kids & family portfolio, however this role will also work across scripted and factual if brand and licensing opportunities arise. Working closely with all divisions across Boat Rocker to take a holistic view of the brand and its P&L to drive ‘one voice’, encouraging collaboration across all lines of business.  The role will focus primarily on the UK/EMEA /AUS region but will also contribute to the global business.

Brand Management:

  • Support the Brand & Licensing Director to create local and regional (UK/EMEA) targeted franchise strategies and rollout plans that deliver against the overarching global plans.
  • Support Brand & Licensing Director in the creation and delivery of targeted consumer marketing plans including digital content solutions, social media campaigns, influencer campaigns, consumer PR support, live events & more
  • Work alongside Toronto based Brand & Licensing Manager, Americas to create global brand decks, sales & trade marketing materials, manage all localisation for the UK, EMEA, Australia
  • Provide insights for new IP evaluations, conducting competitive research & analysis
  • Work alongside Americas brand manager to lead communication with external digital agencies across YouTube and social channel management.
  • Work with core members of the production teams and creative agencies to oversee the development and creation of additional branded content – including, but limited to, content for YouTube, social and digital platforms etc
  • Be main point of contact for content platform scheduling information, ratings tracking, and overall brand performance etc for broadcasters within UK/EMEA/Australia region.
  • Provide broadcasters and digital partners with marketing materials and any other supportive materials in order to achieve highest level of brand support.
  • Manage external marketing approvals across UK/EMEA/Australia markets
  • Work alongside Brand & Licensing Director and Content Marketing Manager to design & manage tradeshows – including all elements such as booth design & set up, tradeshow materials/marketing, partner events, showcases, awards etc..
  • Raise & track all purchase orders for marketing expenses across UK, EMEA, Australia.


Licensing:
 

  • Support the Brand & Licensing Director to create local and regional (UK/EMEA/ANZ) Consumer Products strategies and rollout plans that deliver against the overarching global plans
  • Support the Brand & Licensing Director on deal making and project management for specific CP categories
  • Support Brand & Licensing director to deliver financial targets against forecast
  • Work with Toronto based Brand & Licensing Manager to prepare bespoke pitch materials, ensuring relevant information flows to and from licensee network.
  • Work closely with product development team on product submissions and feedback.
  • Support local agents with brand information and materials.
  • Support the Brand & Licensing Director across all initiatives including retail activations.

Overall:

  • Build key relationships internally with Production, Creative, Legal, Finance, Marketing and externally with licensees, retailers, agents, promotional clients and agencies.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of key trends as well as brand and competitor’s performance.
  • Attendance at all relevant trade shows.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within an entertainment, marketing, licensing, retail or consumer product environment
  • Strong understanding of different cultures across EMEA region
  • Experience in franchise management, managing a portfolio of brands
  • Experience of developing brand plans with a commercial and strategic understanding
  • Strong experience working in the digital space, handling social media and influencers
  • An understanding of the standard frameworks around licensing deals and how to generate revenue accordingly
  • Experience in pitching brands and product to retailers and licensees
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and precisely, excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under own initiative
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong MS Office skills, PowerPoint in particular
