Primary Purpose:

Develops multi-year strategic plans through influence and stakeholder relationships and leads team to design and implement strategic plans. Drives the development of data-driven solutions for Field Service Delivery that address complex initiatives, leads change while mitigating adverse impacts, champions stakeholder involvement in collaborative development for mutually beneficial operational results. Participates in the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of data products across the full cycle of data services – integration/transport, processing and/or visualization – and associated systems to support the analytics needs of data/business analysts or data scientists. Collaborates with business partners, IT peer teams, data architect or other engineers to identify data requirements and translate to technology solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads and develops an analytics and project support team that collaborates with and influences multiple stakeholder departments to establish strategies for enhancing operational efficiencies and data driven decision making based on extensive data analysis. Provide direction, feedback and coaching to employees for ensuring performance standards, goals and key performance indicators are met. Work with key business stakeholder to understand and prioritize collaboration opportunities. Develop analytical roadmaps and business cases (approach, methodology, technology, timelines, proposed solutions, and estimated effort). Partner with stakeholders to achieve consensus and transform existing business processes.
  • Develops predictive models and interweaves predictive analytics with leading and lagging KPIs into decision making including workforce management, projects, and process analysis to enhance department quality, compliance, and efficiency. Implement advanced workload management analytics, forecasting and historical models to optimize the operations functions for groups such as Customer Field Operations, Gas and Electric Operations. Partner with client leadership to develop and implement compliance programs, quality assurance and quality control metrics, seasonal staffing solutions, augmented staffing solutions and optimize straight time efficiencies.
  • Partners with stakeholders to identify and prioritize system needs, understand system capabilities, then develops and executes effective technology vision/strategy roadmap of solutions and initiatives that address complex issues. Leads and supports implementation of enterprise-wide tools to drive critical business systems and analytics for 20+ department systems including understanding all platforms along with interdependencies and integration gaps and associated risk management. Act as the lead advocate for client needs with the IT division. Drives and influences stakeholders in the preparation of business cases to present compelling use information to gain support for system resources and needed enhancements.
  • Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to establish department compliance strategies and helps to manage the scoping, timelines, cost estimates, course adjustments and after-action reviews for established strategies. Manages related workforce planning, budget analysis, and budget forecasts for strategy driven initiatives. Researches and analyzes the potential regulatory impacts and requirements of initiatives and influences stakeholders to enhance project deliverables as needed. Leads extensive assessment of plan and presents to Director and VP annually for approval.
  • Supports the design and build of data products – data pipelines, data lakes/mesh, data/analytics applications. Supports development of data ingestion and transformation processes, to include batch (ETL, ELT), streaming, virtualization and/or replication. Supports development of data lakes/warehouses consisting of raw and curated levels, join data from multiple datasets into logical views; publish datasets to central data mesh/marketplace. Supports designs, builds and implementation of data visualizations to enable actionable operational improvements. Creates and reviews technical and user focused documentation for data solutions (data models, data dictionaries/lineage, process and data flows, architecture diagrams, etc.). Work with project/client teams to follow established data management practices, including the data catalog, metadata management, data quality management.
  • Responsible for operationalizing analytical models to transform existing business processes. Define and evaluate key metrics or KPI’s, to guide and measure the success of the analytical models against accurate baseline data. Develop and deliver dashboards, reports, and presentations.
  • Captures and documents user stories to inform priority and sprint planning. Defines stories and features according to quality standards for clarity. Acts as a trusted advisor and liaison between the team and its primary stakeholder.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Business Administration, Analytics, Computer Science, IT, related field or equivalent experience and training.
  • 8 years – Direct relevant experience, preferably in project management, systems analytics, business consulting, including experience leading cross-functional strategic teams or other change-related programs.
  • 5 years – Experience leading cross-functional strategic teams, successful development and implementation of reporting dashboards, utilizing change management and utility workflow knowledge to drive stakeholder adoption, culminating in improved operational results through quality and efficiency.
  • Ability to lead project leaders to run projects from proof of concept to business case, development, testing, training, implementation, evaluation, governance cycle and change management.
  • Ability to develop a highly competent team and achieve maximum results by empowering, motivating and coaching employees.
  • Analytical reasoning ability, strategic thinking, innovation and openness to new ideas. Able to easily grasp complex issues and ideas while working with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop and deliver persuasive briefs and presentations for formal and informal presentations to Senior Management and other audiences.
  • Decision-making skills required to facilitate timely and effective management decisions.
  • Required to report to Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during activations. In the case of an EOC event, may be required to support Operations 24/7.
  • Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
  • We offer a hybrid work environment. Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow you to work from the office two to three days per week and work remotely on the remaining workdays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree Business Administration, Analytics, Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • 3 years – Experience developing/revising and driving business outcomes through appropriate use of metrics/measures/key performance indicators.
  • Knowledge of robust data systems with consumer-friendly front-ends, utility industry models and current technologies. Knowledge of Python desired.
  • Knowledge of SORT, Click, Envision, Appointment Booking, KorWeb, ARCOS, PowerBI, radios and other field applications preferred.
  • Knowledge of electric or gas utility operations and key supporting drivers, including businesses processes and technology.
  • Knowledge of a represented workforce.
  • Lean Six Sigma is Preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing is Preferred.

Work Schedule
HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 2-3 days per week.
Salary Range
$121,400.00 – $182,100.00
