PARKING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
24 hours/week Monday-Friday
$25.42-30.35/hour

The City of Camas Police Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Parking Enforcement Officer. This position will perform a variety of duties involved in the enforcement of City parking ordinances; interpret and provide information regarding parking rules and regulations to citizens and perform a variety of duties relative to assigned areas of responsibility. This position is based out of the Camas Police Department.
The position will work 24 hours/week Monday-Friday. The position is represented by the Camas Public Employees’ Association and is eligible for a pro-rated benefits package.
Candidates for this position shall have:
- Education equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade
- One year general work experience involving law enforcement and public contact is desirable
- A valid driver’s license
- The ability to use de-escalation tactics with angry customers
- The ability to pass an extensive history screening process, including a background, drug screen and polygraph examination
- Law enforcement experience is desirable
In addition to the job description requirements, the preferred candidate will possess the following attributes: positive attitude, willingness to work with management to change the culture of the organization, ability to take initiative, good verbal and written communication skills, excellent computer skills, demonstrated organizational and decision-making skills and flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed.
