Primary Purpose:

Leads all facets of marketing campaigns and develops compelling content for a multi-channel strategy including, but not limited to: direct mail, video, website, email and social media marketing, and advertising. The goal of all campaigns is to increase customer satisfaction and awareness, creating a positive perception of SDG&E. Serves as a creative storyteller, and applies analytical and communication skills to support a team managing both traditional and digital marketing communications. Ensures the integration of the company brand across all communication channels, for strategic and large-scale marketing campaigns.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes omni-channel marketing communication strategies for product lines to help SDG&E move towards its short- and long-term strategic Conducts thorough evaluations of market dynamics, demographics and competitive environment or niche, overall plan of action, metrics and deadlines. Ensures marketing communication strategies include consideration of internal and external risk factors and opportunities.
  • Develops and executes marketing and communication plans to enhance the company’s offerings and energy solutions for customers. Develops the company’s promotion activities around offerings, as well as sponsorships, seminars, educational events and other activities. Produces postcards, letters, brochures and other company correspondence, and ensures the proper use of grammar and the company’s image and branding. Drives the development of digital marketing (email, social media, search engine, banner advertising and website) that is creative and effective. Develops social media campaigns that target audiences considering platform, timing, tailored posts and profiles to achieve maximum and build a better Internet presence. Drives awareness of brand, services and products, and creates retention as applicable.
  • Manages and integrates multiple project work streams into a program. Acts as the lead for cross-functional internal teams, suppliers, vendors and other support staff to execute multiple projects supporting the business. Manages and adjusts plans as necessary while being sensitive to time restraints and resource availability. Collaborates with internal departments across marketing and public relations to ensure all content align with other strategic messaging. Develops and manages daily marketing communications and production schedule calendars that manage the content the team is creating. Keeps projects on track.
  • Develops strong, compelling and creative content for a variety of marketing and communications campaigns. Ensures content governance to maintain a consistent brand.
  • Manages and measures the success of campaigns and programs, ensuring consistency with SDG&E’s image.
  • May be asked to respond during emergency activation outside normal business hours.
  • Approves contracts up to Advisor limit level.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, related field or equivalent training and/or experience.
  • 10 years’ experience in marketing communications/content creation.
  • Experience and subject-matter expertise in at least three of the following areas: copywriting, project management, brand strategy, graphic design, video production, digital marketing, social media or social media marketing, photography, data analysis, marketing analytics, creating niche market segments and segmentation.
  • Experience working directly for an agency or in a marketing and/or communications role. Experience working on social media platforms and creating personalized content.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Required to walk around a large campus of buildings, often multiple times a day.
  • Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
  • We offer a hybrid work environment. Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow you to work from the office two to three days per week and work remotely on the remaining workdays.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Financial analysis skills – ability to apply financial concepts and processes to understand supplier cost structures, determine impacts of supplier decisions and interpret financial data.
  • Solid leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively.
  • Strong time-management and prioritization skills required. Ability to develop schedules and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of both digital and print design principles. Knowledge of HTML, Indesign, or other design software a plus.

Work Schedule
HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 2-3 days per week.
Salary Range
$93,800.00 – $140,700.00
Total Rewards Philosophy

Market competitive compensation package to be equitable to current marketing manager(s) and include salary and other company benefits (15% participation in the incentive compensation package, 401K company contributions, participation in the Cash Balance Plan, health benefits and hybrid work schedule).
