A secure and good quality home is fundamental to supporting young people. We are looking for someone with maintenance skills who takes pride in the quality of their work and inspires others to do the same.
We are recruiting an Assistant Maintenance Worker to work out of Horsham and across our West Sussex projects that provide housing to young people aged 16-25 years old, with complex support needs. The purpose of this role is to work within the maintenance team to provide basic caretaking services and respond to ad hoc repair requirements, including regularly monitoring and undertaking a variety of landlord health and safety work. You will understand the importance of property Health and Safety and record keeping and will ensure that residents are kept safe in our homes. Your work will be essential to providing residents with the space they need to feel secure, respected, heard and valued.
Your expected shift pattern is Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.00pm or possibly 9.00am to 5.00pm. These hours are to be agreed. A job share will be considered for this role, with the right candidates.

A successful applicant will be a good communicator who has maintenance experience and is able to work positively as part of a team. You will be enthusiastic about working with and for the young people in our services. You will also be adaptable to changing priorities and will be able to manage your time well. You will understand the importance of good record keeping. You must hold a current driving licence.
