Full-Time HR Manager
Job Description
We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a(n) HR Manager within our Branch Leadership Team to help support our Home Furniture business. Our Home Furniture business brings an intense focus on the customer, innovation, world-class manufacturing capabilities, and a global footprint together to create full-package solutions for the industry. We do not make furniture. We make furniture more comfortable. We need the best people on our team to support our strategy, and your work will ensure people around the world have a little more comfort in their lives.
As a(n) HR Manager, you will have the opportunity to manage the full HR and Safety functions for the Tupelo and Saltillo Mississippi manufacturing facilities with a headcount of around 300 employees. You will work closely with the Branch Managers and HR Director to ensure compliance with Corporate and Branch policies and procedures and that operational HR and safety needs are satisfied.
So, what will you be doing as a(n) HR Manager?
- KPIs – Track and monitor branch HR metrics and implement action plans to drive HR strategy and KPI improvement
- Talent – Implement creative ideas to market & branch the LP branch to drive effective full-cycle HR recruitment activities at all levels. Focus on bringing in top talent with upward mobility and long-term potential.
- Leadership Development – Coach, mentor and train people leaders at all levels
- Safety – lead/drive/support safety culture at the branch. This may include compliance, training, onboarding, program development & deployment
- Program Deployment – Develop and implement HR program strategy that drives talent attraction, team training & development, total rewards (employee benefits & compensation) engagement/motivation, performance & employee retention
- HR Team Development – Closely partner with HR team to train, develop and support them to reach their full potential
- Continuous Improvement – Drive continuous improvement and standardization throughout HR policies and processes
- Collaborate with Corporate HR and other HR team members throughout LP to drive HR strategy, culture, and support LP values
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- 4-year degree in Human Resources or similar preferred. Master’s degree in Human Resources Management or related degree preferred
- 5+ years of HR Management experience and 8+ years in HR generalist-type role
- Prior HR experience in a manufacturing environment
- Prior experience with safety, workers’ compensation required, experience with environmental programs and compliance a plus
- Deep understanding of all facets of the human resources function
- Experience developing and implementing HR programs required
- Ability to coach, mentor, and guide leaders through HR issues
- Proven ability to identify talent and foster people first culture
- Ability to collect and analyze data to drive actions for organizational improvement
- Significant experience with local laws and all things employment compliance related
