The Developer Marketing Writer position at InfluxData will be responsible for creating and editing a variety of content related to the InfluxDB platform. Sourcing for this content comes from your own technical expertise, collaboration with internal stakeholders and SMEs (subject matter experts – mostly developers), and customer interviews. Content creation includes items such as blog posts, webinars, social posts, ebooks, video scripts, podcasts, instructional videos, sales combat kits, checklists, and anything else as assigned. You’ll combine your natural journalistic and storytelling skills with your interest and knowledge of developer tools to extract content from SMEs and to write technical marketing content in a way that resonates with each of our customer personas.
What you will be doing:
- Prepare written content for a diverse range of inbound marketing initiatives (blog posts, tutorials, webinars, case studies, video scripts, web copy, etc.)
- Develop and adhere to content strategies
- Participate in content planning and ideation meetings
- Maintain content calendar
- Plan, schedule, and conduct customer interviews with SMEs (subject matter experts) to gain knowledge and create appropriate content

- 5 years of experience in document/content development, to include demonstrated writing, editing, formatting, and proofreading skills.
- Must have experience writing for a developer audience
- Programming experience (Javascript, Python, etc) is strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in English, history, communications, journalism, or appropriate technical discipline with an emphasis on technical communication or equivalent experience
- Strong verbal and written communicator
- Strong editing and proofreading skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships
- Highly organized and efficient
Bonus points
- SEO experience
- Experience with database technologies
- Experience with IoT, observability, and cloud native technologies
- Inbound marketing experience
- Google Analytics (or similar tools) experience

Pay Transparency at InfluxData
InfluxData takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into two zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The offered starting salary will be determined based on the candidate’s job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Ranges are evaluated on a periodic basis and are subject to change at the Company’s discretion.
Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000
