PURPOSE:

The Sr. Software Engineer is a computer software engineer whose primary responsibilities include creating, testing, and programming apps for mobile and web platforms. This engineer will act as a lead to drive deliverables from inception to production.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Collaborate with Product Manager, Creative Designer, and Solution Architect to build and maintain our web and mobile applications using React, React Native and more.
• Use story points to properly estimate development time required to build new features.
• Create technical specs and programs for features and functionality.
• Plan, write and execute test scripts.
• Review code changes for completeness, scalability, and adherence to existing patterns
• Analyze features in production using analytic tools.
• Promote code reuse and establish coding standards.
• Complete emergency support tasks to bring applications back online.
• Maintain existing code and build new features to support additional functionality.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge in JavaScript, Node, Git, RESTful APIs
• Proven iOS and Android development experience working with React Native
• Some knowledge of native iOS and Android.
• Knowledge of AWS environment: Lambdas, S3 etc.
• Strong knowledge of Web/Mobil UI design principles, patterns, responsive design, and best practices
• Knowledge of distributed version control (git preferred)
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and functional programming
• Ability to write clean, understandable, well-documented code.
• Passionate about technology and willing to continually improve skill set.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to prioritize tasks and activities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent professional experience.

Experience:    4+ years of experience with full software development life cycle.

GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

General office working conditions can be remote work from home or in the office. Each department head determines if position is work from home or hybrid meaning works from home and in the office as needed. Work schedules vary. When working in the office pod workstation area has little or no privacy. Involves extended periods of sitting at a workstation performing computer duties. Constant flow of interruptions by personnel, visitors to the area and telephone calls. Private workstations are available as needed. Certain positions are assigned to an office.
