Job Description

Miss Hall’s School seeks a Sous Chef to help enhance our dynamic culinary program.  The right candidate will have a strong knowledge of current and fun food trends and an understanding of kitchen management.  The desire to help teach and grow our team is essential, and willingness to provide delicious, well prepared, restaurant-quality food is a must.  Commitment to the culinary field and desire to excel is important as this position offers growth and opportunity. The position works in collaboration with the Executive Chef and on menu development and event planning.   Miss Hall’s provides an outstanding benefits package with generous paid time off and a creative and welcoming work environment. This is a 12-month position.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the supervision and training of the Culinary Team
  • Lead by example in cooking in and maintaining a professional kitchen
  • Preparation of meals including catering events
  • Assist in menu development
  • Mentor a fun and productive kitchen and front of house
  • Assist with record keeping including production, temperature, waste, and communication logs
  • Provide excellent customer service to our students and MHS community

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • ServSafe certification
  • Catering experience
  • Strong knowledge of food trends
  • Knowledge of allergy and food choice options
  • Knowledge of global cuisine
  • Ability to work varied schedule
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong cooking skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Understanding of team building
  • Culinary degree or certificate

Pay range:  $23-$25 per/ hour
