Full-Time Energy Analyst

The role

We are looking for a member of staff with an interest in analytics and/or housing retrofit to join our analysis team. The work mostly consists of processing and modelling large amounts of housing data to explore energy saving retrofit opportunities for our clients, who are typically housing associations and local authorities. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Cleaning and processing client data
  • Designing suitable retrofit programmes for clients
  • Designing and presenting training sessions/workshops
  • Responding to client queries
  • Assisting in the management of clients
  • Assisting in the development of the product
  • Supervising and training junior analysts

We would consider both full time and part time candidates and the role can be worked with reasonable flexibility to suit the candidate. Whilst we do have an office based in Southwest London, most employees choose to work remotely from their home. This arrangement works well for us, and our staff regularly have meet-ups online and in person. The preferred working location and times can be discussed at the point of interview.

Salary

£30,000 – £36,000 pa pro rata depending on experience

The person

The role would suit someone with at least 2 years work experience in an environmental, scientific, or technical position. Good proficiency in MS Excel is essential, and exposure to Python, R and SQL would also be beneficial.

Essential skills and experience:

  • At least 2 years relevant work experience
  • Experience of managing multiple projects and clients
  • Good A level or equivalent in Maths and/or Physics
  • Proficient in using MS Excel, databases, or other tools for data manipulation
  • Ability to pick up new skills and knowledge quickly
  • Methodical and meticulous approach
  • Ability to work well without supervision, using own initiative to solve small issues arising
  • Enthusiasm for the subject / sector

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of home energy use and efficiency improvements
  • Knowledge of Python, R and/or SQL
  • Ability to clearly present technical concepts
  • Knowledge of PowerBI
  • Experience of supervising junior personnel
