Salary range: £32,463 – £35,123 pro-rata
Type of contract: Fixed Term Contract from 24 April 2023 to 31 December 2023

Working hours: Full time, 35 hours per week
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly organised programme support officer to join our team. This position is based in the RCOG’s Centre for Women’s Global Health and will be part of the Making Abortion Safe (MAS) programme, a multi-country advocacy programme focusing on expanding access to quality abortion and post-abortion care. As well as coordinating and supporting the delivery of the administrative, communications and educational components of the programme, you will also work collaboratively with teams across the RCOG and coordinate multiple work streams. This will be a busy role maintaining relationships with many internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the main point of contact for MAS Champions in Nigeria, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Sudan and Sierra Leone, providing on-going support and triaging any issues that arise.
- Support the continued promotion of online training materials and guidance ensuring resources are marketed widely to relevant stakeholders, including writing copy for brochures, leaflets, and assets for online advertising and coordinating the, design and printing of documents where applicable.
- In conjunction with the programme team, support the development of engaging and effective sessions and workshops at events such as International Safe Abortion Day, Women Deliver conference, FIGO Conference, International Confederation of Midwives Conference and the RCOG World Congress.
- Provide guidance and support to the programme team by developing and maintaining systems, procedures and records in line with RCOG policy.
About you
This position is well-suited to a highly organised administrator with the drive and passion to champion the work of the Making Abortion Safe programme and support others to advocate for accessible, quality abortion care for all, working collaboratively with teams across the RCOG and with external stakeholders to achieve this goal.
Requirements
- Experience working in the fields of SRHR, international development, public health and/or human rights.
- Experience working with a range of stakeholders on global programmes.
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Excellent relationship management skills and ability to grow and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience working efficiently under tight deadlines and juggling multiple priorities and projects.
- Excellent communication skills – excellent verbal and written English communication skills and ability to organise and present information in a compelling way.
