Internship Digital Content Coordinator

Job Description

About The Role: The Digital Content Coordinator is responsible for gathering digital content pertaining to LGBTQIA+ and other doubly marginalized refugees for the purpose of communication and advocacy. This content includes but is not limited to stories from the communities and partners we work with, relevant media stories, and current events.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Stay abreast of current topics relevant to our work by monitoring various media outlets. Refer stories with personalized commentary to the social media team for sharing.
  • Liaise with community members and partners to gather stories and associated photos/videos to develop into posts, blog articles, etc. 
  • Work with the social media team to adapt and adhere to the communications calendar. 
  • Generate new ideas to draw the audience’s attention.
  • Utilize platforms adopted by SPI (e.g. Google Suite, Slack)
  • Help build a workplace culture that is anti-racist, inclusive, equitable, trauma-informed, and team member-centric.
  • Other duties as assigned by the SPI Leadership Team.

 

What Else You Should Know:

This role is a remote volunteer position. There is no fixed location requirement, but the Digital Content Coordinator must be available to meet and collaborate with team members located primarily in North America, Europe, and Africa.
