Full-Time Highways Engineer

Job Description

Now part of SLR, Vectos have a great opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join its busy and growing Transport Engineering team.

The role

You will be responsible for the preparation of detailed design, feasibility studies and scheme reports on a variety of projects producing bill of quantities and costings.

General Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the scheme design complies with the specification and agreed programme.
  • Ensure designs comply with health and safety regulations and CDM requirements.
  • Ensure designs are assessed for environmental impacts.
  • Liaison with stakeholders and third parties.
  • Liaise with other team members associated with the design.

About you

Core Competencies:

  • A sound knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Manual for Streets.
  • Experience of design and managing the Section 278/38 process.
  • Ability to liaise with client, stakeholders, subcontractors and third parties.
  • A detailed understanding of Health & Safety legislation

Desirable Competencies:

  • Competent user of Civils 3D
