Position Overview
The Strategic Contracting and Reimbursement Manager is responsible for supporting the development of contracting & reimbursement strategies for institutional & provider customer channels (e.g., clinics, GPOs, institutions, 340B entities, etc) for the cabotegravir franchise. This position will span both future pipeline and inline responsibilities. Cabotegravir represents the first provider-administered line of products in the ViiV portfolio, with market access considerations that are substantially different from the rest of the ViiV products. Pricing and reimbursement implications, payer benefit placement and coverage, as well customer experience and service delivery all differ from the current market access environment for oral anti-retrovirals (ARVs).
This position will work with the Director of Strategic Contracting and Reimbursement to develop strategies and tactics that support broad favorable access to the cabotegravir brands, and will have the following key responsibilities:
- Develop contracting and reimbursement strategy recommendations across all institutional and provider customer channels, and contribute to development of gross-to-net financial forecasts
- Support assessments of institutional and provider practice economics and determine strategy with relevant stakeholders (clinics, GPOs, institutions, 340B entities), including contracting if appropriate
- Work closely with the Director to lead assessments of US payer environmental trends and healthcare policy changes to determine implications to provider administered injectable ARVs
- Support development of product acquisition and reimbursement resources and tools for Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) team. In coordination with other commercial functions, integrate FRM strategy across other field functions (field sales and payer account teams)
- Educate and influence commercial and medical leaders, and other internal stakeholder groups, in understanding the US payer environment, market access considerations, and impact of healthcare reform on provider administered injectable ARVs
- Integrate payer value drivers and future payer landscape implications for provider administered injectable ARVs in pre-launch commercial planning, clinical development, and launch execution
- Support ViiV Governance process for institutional and provider contracts, including cross-functional consultation and evaluation with brand, legal, and GSK contract operations
- Collaborate with ViiV Contract Operations team to provide input into contract development, administration, and performance
- Work closely with Director to partner with brand market access and marketing to ensure strategic and tactical alignment and help shape the annual business planning process for strategic customer engagement

Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, or Finance areas
- 5+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience in the market access area (payer marketing, payer contracting, Gross-to-Net finance, government pricing, etc)
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Demonstrated understanding of commercial and public payer customers (i.e. PBM, MCO, employer, Medicaid, Medicare) and the complex dynamics among key players affecting the payer customer (i.e. CMS, quality standards-setting organizations)
- Demonstrated understanding in reimbursement methodologies & contract terms/structures that payers implement with providers for provider-administered injectables
- Proven learning agility with a high-level of motivation and a strong ability to find creative solutions to challenging, unstructured situations
- Demonstrated expertise in financial impact modelling
- Familiarity with all major payer segments, coverage decision drivers, and payer formulary access management & utilization controls
- Ability to lead and influence across various levels and within various functions – primarily policy, account teams, and brand marketing
- CPA, MBA, or similar advanced degree in Finance area
- Understanding of the HIV therapeutic area
- Expertise in payer coverage drivers and implications for provider-administered injectables (benefit placement, coverage criteria, site of care, etc)
- Experience developing institutional and provider contracting strategies (clinics, GPOs, institutions, 340B entities, etc)
- Familiarity with payer claims adjudication for provider-administered injectables
- Provider-administered injectable product launch experience
- Proven ability to operate independently and handle multiple projects with a high degree of initiative, planning, and prioritization
- Ability to combine data analysis with qualitative insights to identify and explain market access, brand and above-brand drivers of business performance
- Demonstrated ability to develop recommendations through logical, fact-based presentations
- Excellent communication (written & verbal), interpersonal influence and prioritization skills
- Strong business acumen and demonstrated analytical skills
