Primary Purpose:

This position will support planning, development, implementation and measurement of a comprehensive business and residential outreach plan to meet program and project goals, develop partnerships with key external and internal stakeholders, successfully engage our diverse customer base and position SDG&E as a trusted energy advisor. The supervisor will lead a team of 5 individuals who will develop and execute successful outreach strategies and tactics to raise awareness and increase participation in SDG&E’s Customer Programs (Bill Payment, Customer Assistance, Wildfire Mitigation, and other ad hoc programs) as well as educate and inform target audiences on key company initiatives. Additionally, this position will work with leadership to ensure that department outreach priorities and strategic objectives are in alignment and supportive of the company’s overall strategic goals and are aligned across both internal and external stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the Outreach team in the development, implementation, and execution of a comprehensive outreach plan that includes goals, strategies, and tactics as well as tracking and reporting on performance of the outreach team and any matrixed support functions.
  • Collaborates with various departments across the organization including but not limited to Residential Services, Business Services, Government & Public Affairs, Media Relations, Community Relations, Marketing & Communications, Regulatory, Legal to coordinate outreach and leverage opportunities with various stakeholders, including elected officials, community partners and customers.
  • Ensures that Customer Programs & Assistance strategic objectives are in alignment and support maximizing the full potential range of benefits and delivery of quality programs and services to customers and stakeholders. Identify opportunities to enhance SDG&E’s customer satisfaction and favorability with all stakeholders.
  • Provides support and identify regulatory or legislative issues that may have impact on various customer programs.
  • Provides guidance on issues related to program administration and implementation and collaborate on the integration of Customer Programs with other company/department offerings.
  • Oversees network of contractors and energy solutions partners who support us in our outreach efforts, budgets and regulatory reporting efforts related to our outreach activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties)
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ Related experience is required.
  • Diverse Customer Programs experience and deep knowledge of Energy Efficiency and Demand Response programs.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with regulatory filings and development of program proposals.
  • Must understand legislative and regulatory climate with potential impacts
  • Must have proven strategic planning skills
  • Must have ability to analyze trends for potential impacts and develop solutions
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster partnerships with diverse groups of stakeholders including by not limited to CA IOUs, other utilities, and the marketplace.
  • Excellent verbal and written business communication skills.
  • Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
  • We offer a hybrid work environment. Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow you to work from the office two to three days per week and work remotely on the remaining workdays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree is preferred.

Work Schedule
HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 2-3 days per week.
Salary Range
$107,700.00 – $161,600.00
